"Hey look! A place where I can work from home." Eternia sat down at the new table with a whistle. "Oh, there's a letter here."
Curious, Nareen settled down on the former kitchen bench. "Is it from Eph?"
"Yes, it is."
"What does it say?!"
"Don't rush me!" Eternia cleared her throat.
"Dear greedy dolls,
I hope you enjoy your new house, and sorry about any inconveniance. I hired Libra to talk to you so I wouldn't have to leave you notes every day."
"Who's Libra?"
"The garden faerie, maybe?"
"Hm, probably. Keep reading!"
"Actually I had planned to give you these things for Christmas, but then I recieved your 5-mile long wishlist and realized that you ingrate and cheeky dollies would never be happy with my gifts and I had to I invest even more time into your presents."
"We love you too, boss!" both dolls said simultaneously, although only Nareen was truly contrite. Then Eternia continued reading aloud.
"Since I am either out to get materials or work night and day in the hobby room to get your wishes fulfilled I left it to Libra to deliver the things that I had previously prepared."
"There's a hobby room?"
"No wonder we couldn't find her. I've never been there before."
"Read on!"
"You will recieve your other gifts for Christmas and I expect you to share the new clothes with the other dolls and not keep everything for yourselves. WHAAAAAT?!"
"That's all right."
"Are you crazy?! If I hear any complaints about not getting every little thing from the list afterwards I'll sell you."
"We love you too, boss! Honestly!" both dolls said simultaneously in their sweetest voice.
"Please keep listening to Libra. She has all the info and skills to make your Christmas party pleasant and fun. She's my official ambassador and if you have any questions ask her."
"With this letter is the key to your new rooms. I hope they will help you lead an independant life. Your wishlist basically had every item in existance on it, so prove that you can stand on your own feet. In case that wasn't clear enough: I don't want to hear any begging next year! Giselda has my number to order food. That's all. Don't call us, we'll call you.
Merry Christmas!
Cheers,
Eph"
"A key to new rooms! How exciting!" The thoughts whirled through Nareen's head.
"Hm. Does that mean I'm fired as a model?"
"Elizabeth, we recieved a key to explore the new rooms of the house. Care to join us?" Eternia asked their new roommate.
Elizabeth looked bored. "Thank you, but I think this room and the corridor is all I need to see. Unless you find a room just for me, that is."
"Aw, but if you don't come to the kitchen you'll miss out on all of Giselda's great food!" said Nareen.
Eternia gave her a bewildered look. "Nareen! Do you still not see what kind of creature she is?!"
"She brought a casket so I suppose she's a necromancer or witch?" Nareen guessed.
Eternia looked like she would faint while Elizabeth hid her giggle behind her hand.
"You're too funny, Nareen. Let's say I'm only interested in your kitchen if the cook is tasty."
"Oh boy, we can't leave Giselda alone with her in the house."
"Hey guys!" Tamara came in. She took a quick glance at the room and the people inside and raised an eyebrow. "Alright, I wanted to check on your situation but it seems you're fine now. You even have some... extras." Her gaze focused on Elizabeth.
"Good timing, Tamara!" said Eternia. "Nareen and I have to check out our new rooms. Care to keep our new roomie, Elizabeth, company while we're gone?"
"We have a fireplace now so you won't be cold." Nareen added.
"Sure, leave it to me."
"Good day to you, Tamara," the pale woman greeted.
"Hello," said Tamara as she made herself comfortable on the sofa.
She and the vampire started a small staring contest until Filou barged in and started hopping up and down in front of Elizabeth.
"Is that your dog?"
"Yes, he is."
"He looks very tasty."
"No, he isn't."
"You're such a versed and pleasant conversationalist."
"Why, thank you."
