Orange cake
Image information
Here's a picture from the other side where the frosting and whipped cream are more obvious.
Overall I was disappointed by the whole book, sadly. The cover says "over 60 crochet treats" but in the end many things are either recolours (e.g. cauliflower and broccoli or oranges and limes) or they are tiny and simple, e.g. a simple red ball as a tomato. I don't need a book for that and especially for the recolours I would have preferred to have a just a note about the possible variation in colour and seen the space better used for more new things.
I bought the book because the UK edition has all those cute cakes on the cover. The coextensive US edition has sushi on the cover and sadly that's much closer to what's inside the book. It's mostly about sushi in a hundred variations, fruit slices and meal components like meatballs, onion rings, cheese, bacon strips, mayo and ketchup bottles, celery sticks and olives which you can then arrange decoratively to a hamburger, fruit salad or full meal. (Are there really people who do the latter? o.0`) Of what I craved most - the cakes - there are only five and thus this book is my biggest mispurchase so far.
This led to my intention to make up sweets patterns of my own though.
