Image information

Description

The face was realized using various materials. First everything was sketched on with a trick marker which vanished completely after a little time. The black paint is textile paint from a pot which was applied with a brush. The make-up was done with pastel pens, water colour pens and even coloured pencils. The white highlights were added with acrylic paint - I neglected to paint in the white of the eyes too, though.

My main focus was to paint the faces in my own style since the faces from the instructions are not my cup of tea. No shade to the artist, I'm just not the gal to like strong make-up and big mouths.
In my opinion a manga-style face doesn't look very compelling on such a flat face though and in addition it looks very small. My next doll gets a sculpted head with a real nose, let's see how that will look. I guess in the end my dolls will require slightly bigger heads for a convincing manga look.
