Wood Elf

Image information

Description

The legs are detailed with time-consuming embroidery with multi-colour metallic thread. The net fabric was dabbed with fabric paint in lots of colours and the individually cut felt leaves were also machine embroidered and then - like the beads, sewn on by hand. The hair consists of several strands of cut knitted fabric. As an additional detail she has earrings, one of which has an added chain.

I'm not 100% happy with the head. The size is to my liking now (the ears could be a bit smaller again for the next doll), but it's really hard to sculpt noses, especially tiny manga noses. I will keep fiddling with that, but I would prefer if I could 3D-print the head and glue fabric to it. Let's see if I can still learn 3D-modelling at my ripe age. About the skin fabric, I feel like it lost almost all colour over time although it was stored in a cabinet. It's way too light. I hope it's suitable for dyeing, so my next doll can be darker.

Overall I'm happy with this doll, though.
