"It occured to me that someone thought of my name." Charlotte didn't come. She was suddenly there.
Eternia winced. "Good day, Charlotte. That was Blanche, for sure."
"Ah, good old Blanche. I never had a more faithful follower", the girl pondered.
Tamara didn't want to point out that Charlotte - if she truly was a goddess - should care more about the mental health of her priestess and cautiously said instead: "Your priestess was the last one to travel in box 2. We start boarding fabric box 2 right now."
"Wasn't it your wish to check in just recently? Now you can!" Eternia said with an inviting gesture. "You can even choose your place freely!"
"You do need a travel companion, though", Tamara added.
"Well, that is no problem. I will travel with this poor creature." Just a small gesture of Charlotte and Sakura appeared besides Eternia. The blonde woman winced again.
"What did she just call me? Creature?"
"You poor thing, forgotten by your best friend who will travel with someone else." Charlotte's voice was full of compassion but her eyes were looking at something far away.
"All right", Sakura said in seriousness. She went toward the other girl, put her hand on Charlotte's shoulder reassuringly and said: "Listen, you don't have to make up stories just so you don't have to travel alone. My friend Yuki is big and strong, she will do fine by herself. If you need someone strong then of course I'll accompany you."
Charlotte blinked and lifted her hands very slowly. "My dear child, I chose you as companion so you will arrive at our new home secure and healthy. You don't have to feign boldness."
"Neither do you", Sakura insisted.
"If you want to cry because you're lonely without your friend, I'll lend you my shoulder."
"And if you need a handkerchief I will lend you mine anytime."
"Goodness!" growled Tamara, roughly ten minutes later. "Finally those two are in the box! Until the last minute they couldn't agree on whom protects whom!"
"Well", Eternia said proudly, "that's so like our clan members."
"Is Sakura really one of us? I can't remember having seen her, ever."
"Yuki says she knows her from the village and if my sister says so then it must be true."
"Hm." Tamara got lost in silence.
Lost in thought Eternia played with Charlotte's hat. "I wonder if she is really a goddess?"
"I think I don't want to know that - as long as she leaves me in peace."
"Oh, you're an agnostic too?"
Tamara eyed her friend sternly. "We serve the dragon of darkness! Mir is my only goddess."
Eternia grimaced and bit her lip.
