Valerie

Image information

Description

Due to the recommended brands of fabric for skin not being available over here I bought several pieces of cotton fabric in skintones and still do tests which are durable enough for doll making and also look good when painted. The fabric I used for Valerie was too weak which is why I used interfacing.

Originally I had chosen a beautiful, shimmery pink fabric with embroidery for her legs but said embroidery always ripped, even with interfacing and fray lock. So I had to put it aside, sadly, and used a simple pink cotton fabric. The top and sleeves are made from wash leather (fake suede), the skirt and sleeve decorations are made from satin and tulle.
