Dog Pillow

Image information

Description

The instructions for this cute Corgi dog pillow which I made from fleece come from the "book" "Sew Your Own Pet Pillows" by Choly Knight. It's a cute little pillow which found its place on our sofa today.

I use the word "book" very loosely in this case since it is actually just a thin booklet with a whopping 20 pages (incl. both covers). Therefore I can't really recommend it. It costs 8$, contains 4 pillows with 3 variants each, the instructions are very short and barely worth mentioning and - worst of all - half of the pages is used for the sewing patterns which have to be enlarged to 250%. That was very, very much of a hassle, took us a whole evening for just two of the pillows and since the booklet was so short anyway I would have preferred to get just 10 pages plus a big sewing pattern.
Additionally one of the pillows is said to be included in the other book of this author already ("Sew Kawaii", which I will probably buy in the near future too due to the plush dolls).

I admit - for that few information and for all that work with the patterns I could have made up such a pillow all by myself with less hassle. I expected some more tips and inspirational ideas for own projects from this booklet. The only valuable info for me was to add fusible interfacing with the appliques to  make them crinkle less.

I'm all excited that my new sewing machine can do this kind of stitch though! I always wanted to do this and never could. :)
