First tries
Image information
Here is my "wall of shame", so to speak, namely my first tries besides the swan.
Meet Furball - he's just a ball of extra thick yarn unsuitable for Pullip hats, with some simple feet and googly eyes added.
Then there's Onigiri, a rice ball with a piece of sea weed. The book didn't tell me how to actually crochet rectangles/ flat pieces in general and I did NOT look it up, so I missed that I had to yarn over after every row and as a result the sea weed looks very gnawed upon. Further I'm a bit disappointed with my stitching job on its face, it doesn't look happy. The cheeks are cute though - I needlefelted them on.
Last but not least there's Torpedo Hamster - my very first amigurumi ever. Basically he's a sausage with ears. It's the beginner's pattern from the Idiot's book and there are four variations. I missed out on the fact that the one I chose doesn't come with feet and later on had to notice that I couldn't add feet after I was done.
The crochet pattern for the onigiri is available for free here: http://greatamigurumi.blogspot.de/2012/03/onigiri-sushi-rice-ball-pattern.html
The hamster is from the book "The Complete Idiot's Guide to Amigurumi" by June Gilbank.
