Baby Quilt
Image information
It took me weeks to finish this blanket, ca. 80-100 hours. Especially the handmade appliques (the dark yellow is fluffy Nikki fabric) took a lot of time. I added the name of the child by ironing on fluffy transfer foil and painstakingly sewed around it by hand to make sure it couldn't become lose in the washing machine. The 20 is the birth year of the child and the latters are the initials of the forenames of the child and its parents.
In retrospect I should have simple bought something and been done with it, but at least now I know how to make such a blanket for myself too. I can't do bigger, since it wouldn't fit under my sewing machine, but this size would be perfect for a small blanket to spread over my thighs while sewing during winter.
