Schleich - Kirin
Image information
Description
The Kirin (Chinese Qilin) is a Chinese creature of fable, often called the Chinese unicorn too. It is one of the four most important creatures of wonder. (The others are dragon, phoenix and turtle.)
It is a thouroughly good character, depicting peace and benignity. When it walks neither grass nor insects get trampled beneath its hooves. There are many different depictions. Sometimes it has a horn on its brow, sometimes it has golden or colourful scales. A dear head, lion's tail and the beard of a carp are also common sights.
The Kirin is one of my favourite creatures of legend and this one is very nicely sculpted.
