Fire Faerie

Image information

Description

I learned this technique from a (German) book but I'm not sure if the author actually invented these dolls since I've seen them go by dozens of names since then.

For my elves I wanted faces and ears though, those in the book had not. ^^

What makes me really sad is that all kind of tutorial books list mohair and similar sheep locks as material for hair and that's almost impossible to get. Wensleydale wool goes for horrendous prices on Ebay... So most of the time I have no choice but to use regular sheep wool for hair.
