Reluctantly Wati approached the two women. He didn't mind the new one but he had been hoping Tamara would take care of preparations instead of the fickle Eternia. "Good day, ladies. I want to check in for the move, if possible in the same box my Lady Nahh-Ato travels in."
"Oh, hello, captain Wati!" Sinistra greeted with an apologizing smile. "I'm sorry but that's not possible, as box 2 is already full. To be honest we even have to use a moving box now!"
Which meant that Sinistra and Eternia would have to travel in a moving box too. Usually this fact would have more than annoyed Eternia, she would have had a meltdown. But the moment she heard Sinistra speak the name she had so longingly waited for a swarm of butterflies had flewn up in her belly.
"Captain Wati! How nice to meet you!" Eternia exclaimed overjoyed and pushed past Sinistra. She spread her arms and gave Wati a smile which made the hair on his neck stand up.
"Miss Eternia, good evening", Wati replied dutifully and tried to keep calm.
At first Sinistra was surprised when Eternia went past her like that but then she remembered that this had to be the captain that her friend had gushed about so often.
Sol also joined the small group and put a happy "Hello!" out there while his gaze stuck to the blonde like glue.
"Err, I guess the process is the same as with the last move?" Wati asked stiffly.
"Uhm, yes, you can..." Eternia started to say but was interrupted instantly by the man who promptly handed her his headband. "All right then. Here, this I want to store. I don't have anything else. Just like last time, you see, heh!" Although she didn't move the woman seemed to close up on him every second and so Wati became more nervous with every word. Now that everything was said and done the captain of the guard only had one wish left: To hide in the moving box so he would not have to see the woman before Dolltopia started for good. "That's all! No need to show me the way. Have a nice evening, ladies!" He quickly rushed away and barely heard Sinistra's surprised "See you, captain Wati!".
"Now, that beats everything!" Eternia blustered. For so many days she had waited to flutter her eyelashes in her unresistable way at him and now the guy simply ran away?! "Is such a boorish behaviour even allowed for a member of the palace guard?!"
"Err... hello, Eternia!" Sol made another tentatively attempt to greet her, while rather not speaking the rest of his thought out loud. After all, they only met once so far and he didn't want to come across as pushy. "Not all of us want to run away from you..."
With an angry snort Eternia turned towards him. Only now she noticed his presence. "Oh, hello Sol!" she snapped, her cheeks still red from anger. Still, she tried to not wreak her anger on the young man too much, since his only fault was that he worked for Wati. "Where do you come from all of a sudden? Didn't notice you before!"
"Well, actually he was there all along", Sinistra whispered behind her.
"Oh? In any case, I have to put this into storage now", the blonde murmured. She didn't feel like having a conversation now. "Do you want to have your bandana stored too or would you prefer to crumple it to dust?" The words left her mouth more sharply than planned and when she noticed Sol's startled and hurt reaction she was instantly sorry. No, she really shouldn't strike a conversation when she felt like this.
"Eternia!" Sinistra berated her in hushed tones, which made her even more mad.
"Err, I..." Sol said, then went silent and simply handed his bandana over to her that he indeed had crumpled up in his hands without noticing. "Here."
"Thanks. I'm going to store that for you, then." Eternia tried to keep calm while hot tears were boiling in her belly. "I'm sure you'll have no problem to find your captain without my help." She stormed past Sol to the storage boxes, turning her back towards him.
The young man had been hoping to talk to her, but now he realized he would not even get a "bye" from her. He wondered what he did wrong, while nodding sadly towards Sinistra and following Wati. He walked slowly, hoping that Eternia would change her mind and say bye to him, but the only one looking after him was the elementalist.
Sinistra was shocked and confused. What just happened?
